I have never used kubuntu before, but looking at some information about KDE, I would suggest looking in your home directory for one of either of these options
The images are saved in
~/.cache/plasmashell/plasma_engine_potd
or~/.cache/plasma_engine_potd

In my case, it was in
~/.cache/plasma_engine_potd/
