After first Linux installation I did not bother myself too much with partitions. When I wanted to install a brand new Linux I dived deeper.
Feedback whether my general understanding is correct/wrong is highly appreciated.
/ - root partition, anything that does not have its own partition is stored here. Space: not exceeding 2GBs
/home - home partition, all directories of all users of your system go here, requires biggest space for the OS and installed apps. Space: OS size + installed apps (50-1000GBs?)
/boot - GRUB menu is here. Space: up to 1GB
