Reading/studying from Pdf's in dark mode, with customizable highlighting and annotations

I'm trying to read some pdfs in Ubuntu with Document Viewer(DV), however to customize the colour, thickness, etc. it's really bothersome, since whatever (few) choices we have in DV, we must customize it case by case, not for the whole document. Also, I'm looking for something that allows a dark mode, just like DV does.

What apps are there for Ubuntu? I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS.
