Keyboard only partially recognized by Ubuntu 22.04 LTS guest on Mac

I have a Ubuntu 22.04 LTS guest in the Virtualbox VM on my Mojave 10.14.6 Mac host. My MacBook Air keyboard is as shown in the following image :

The first row of keys have no effect when pressed from inside the guest ; in fact they have the effect of immediately going back to the host and being executed there. As a result, I am unable to use shortucts like Alt+F12 in my guest.

Any fixes/workaround for this please ?
