Here's the proper way to use snap:
the above is from

, but works just as well from standard Ubuntu.and to start the service:
If docker is installed through
snap
, this error will happen...The name of the docker service under snap is
snap.docker.dockerd.service
.Using that instead of
docker.service
should also work.
