I did a fresh install of the above Ubuntu 24.04 on my new Xiaomi Redmi Book 14 Pro notebook, but there's no sound. In Sound config / Devices I only see "Dummy Output" as device.
I did everything described in various manuals, like
sudo alsa force-reload
sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel
apt-install --reinstall pulseaudio
along with apt remove --purge alsa-base followed by apt install alsa-base
My processor is Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Processor 155H
My soundcard is Intel (graphics: Iris Xe Graphics)
I am currently running ubuntu 22.04 with a /boot size of 524Mb with 296Mb free. I have already removed old configs and kernels but this initrd.img-6.5.0-44-generic file seems to occupy a lot of space:

I have a Dell laptop (inspiron 16 5645). In addition to the Super key, it has another key which I am told is the windows co-pilot key. It appears to behave like the left-shift key, and xev reports it as the same keycode, but presumably Windows can distinguish it.
Can I do anything useful with it? I want to map it to right-ctrl, which is absent.

Screen size is 1920x1080. I am happy with 200%. The resulting size is 960x540. But GNOME doesn't work. App center doesn't fit in. What to do?
Week ago I upgraded from 22.04 to 24.04. Had almost zero issues, but now I noticed something weird.
I am using two keyboard layouts and switching between them using Alt+Shift shortcut.
When I am trying to type anything on non-english layout in Google Sheets via Firefox, nothing happens. I have to double click into cell first, then I can type.
If I use english layout, no issues at all.
For debugging purposes in system settings I added third layout. Surprisingly when I alt-tab into Firefox, I can not even choose that third layout. It is not there! I am talking about system tray icon.
Actually that issue (missing keyboard layout) repeats for most of the software (Kate, Phpstorm, Slack, even Konsole). Chromium is not affected somehow: I can see, choose and actually type into Chromium using any added keyboard layout.
To clarify: In Firefox and other software I can use layout#1 and layout#2, but not layout#3. In Google Sheets specifically I can choose layout#2, but then nothing happens when I'm typing.
If I go into System settings - Input Devices - Keyboard, then I can use any layout in Test Area.
