I'm trying to boot into Ubuntu but the problem is that the boot manager menu is not showing me the USB boot option. It says that the system doesn't have any USB boot optiion. How to fix this issue. N.B: I used Rufus to create a bootable flash drive and installed the LTS version of Ubuntu/ My pc brand is Lenovo --> IdeaPad 3 15iau7 so you can say it's a modern laptop/I disabled the secure boot option and still the same problem.
I installed the Ubuntu Zoom client from a .deb file. In the first meeting, it crashed, and I had to restart the client. During that same first meeting, it kept popping up with notifications saying it had crashed.
I don't use zoom a lot, so I uninstalled it. It still "crashes" about every 5-10 minutes. I keep getting a dialog pop-up (two at a time) telling me it crashed. I've searched for zoom files on the machine, and deleted them. I've restarted. I don't know what to do.
Ubuntu: Jammy (22.04.4)
Zoom: None (was latest as of 2 weeks ago).
What is causing this pop-up to continue?
EDIT: As per a comment, here is the output of locate Zoom
(which I already had installed) and plocate Zoom

I would like to see signatures of a pdf file in Ubuntu. With Adobe in Windows is easy, but cannot find that option in Ubuntu. I am using evince.
Some time ago I changed the display of the date and time in the top bar, using Gnome tweaks. Now, after upgrading to 24.4.1 LTS it has stopped working and shows "Tuesday 3 September Y | k:45;25" (with the correct minutes and seconds). I would be happy to return to the normal form (though getting the year and month would be nice), but how can I do even that?
I tried to upgrade from 22.04, and it successfully upgraded. The only problem, and it's a huge one, is that I cannot login, I get an incorrect login, authentication error, sorry try again. This happens when I want to enter the password of my users. I can not use sudo, cannot switch to root using su
or sudo -i
.
I can go to recovery and work as a root, though, so I tried changing passwords, but it did not fix the problem.
I checked /etc/pam.d/sudo
and /etc/shadow
, checked locale and caps, all seem fine.
What else could be the problem? I am under the impression that polkit could be the reason, but I have no clue whatsoever how to check that. Appreciate any ideas
