Questions[a2dp](ubuntu)

I bought a couple of TWS headphones to do calls and meetings, I can pair them with my linux machine but I can't use the microphone.

I read that the problem is the profile, that A2DP is not capable to work with the microphone and I have to switch to HSP/HFP

I tried the following guide and now I'm able to switch to HFP

Failed to change profile to headset_head_unit

I've luckly also find a repo to install ofono-phonesim because is not avaiable on the Ubuntu repo :(

Anyway, when I switch to HFP, I got no sound from the earphones but static noise, and also the WIFI stop working... If I switch back to A2DP everyng goes back to normal, even wifi connectivity

I'm spending a lot of time on this problem, I don't know what to do :(

I've bought a bluetooth headset "Samnyte K10" and connected it to my computer via bluetooth. It plays sounds but my laptop doesn't receive sound from the microphone. In the Settings -> Sound configuration window, there were bars shown in pale orange for the input volume that, however, didn't move. Furthermore, I couldn't set the headset as sound input permanently, it would always switch back to "Internal Microphone". To address this problem, I've changed the last line of the default.pa file in /etc/pulse/ to set the bluetooth microphone as default audio input:

set-default-source bluez_source00_0B_00_D6_F3.headset_head_unit

Now the bars in the sound configuration window are just white. I still cannot record audio though... The device ist listed in the volume control as headset.

Does anyone have a clue where the problem might be and how to solve it?

Update: I tried another bluetooth headset, both play sound only in A2DP Profile, if I set them as microphone, they change to HSP/HFP and won't work at all.

I've got headset SONY that I cannot set to A2DP profile. I've read many questions about that but nothing seems to work. It connects fine via BT, I'm using blueman and Pulse Audio Volume Controle. But when I try to change profile from off or HSP/HFP to A2DP blueman says Failed to change profile to a2dp_sink. When I do the same in AudioPulse it changes in the UI (option is set) but the setting doesn't change. Running pacmd list-cards in terminal shows:

Which seems reasonable: if A2DP is not available then I cannot set it up. But I've managed to set it before but after reconnection, it just stopped working and I cannot do that again.

Could you help me to set that up?

PS. I set in my /etc/bluetooth/main.conf

However I am not sure if that's ok: I need to use my microphone from my headset as well for videoconf, doesn't disable=headset disable it?

When I activate bluetooth on my notebook I can see and pair with every bluetooth device near me but there is no A2DP or HFP/HSP headphones in there. Typing service bluetooth status in terminal gives me back

Full restart of bluetooth service and typing service bluetooth status again just removed last line from the feedback. I'm new to Linux systems so I can't get what to do next, can you lead me?

since a few weeks I have some (more) trouble with my bluetooth headphones Sony WH-H900-N in Ubuntu 18.04 (but also in Linux Mint). It is a headphone with noice cancellation feature. So it does have a microphone for this purpose, but I doubt that it is good enough to use as input for VoIP applications. Instead I would like to use a webcam as microphone input.

So here are my problems:

-I am able to connect the headphones more or less properly, but I have to manually pair it in every session and manually set it to A2DP profile. Using this annoying workaround it works as an high quality audio sink.

-Whenever I connect to any VoIP application (Telegram call, connect to TeamSpeak Server, Skype) for some reason it automatically switches from A2DP audio sink profile to Headset Head Unit (HSP/HFP) Profile. The result is, that I can not hear anything anymore. Neither system sounds, nor the audio from the voice call. People hear me talking though and it seems like the correct microphone is used as input (the webcam, NOT the microphone from the headphones).

Strangely I had no problems with calls until some weeks ago. And this is true for two different systems (Ubuntu, Linux Mint). So I guess there was some recent common update that causes the problems.

Does anybody know how I can fix this issue? To me it seems like permanently setting the headphones as A2DP audio sink and permanently setting the webcam as default microphone input could solve this. But I am not sure how this noice cancellation thing interacts with all this. Plus I don't know how to set things up permanently and I read terrible stories of people trying to manually mess with pulseaudio :)
