I'm running Xubuntu 20.04 (with current updates) and have the boinc-virtualbox (7.16.6+dfsg-1) package installed via Synaptic from the Ubuntu Software repository.
And I get this message every time I boot the machine:
vboxdrv: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel
The module still seems to load, but I'd like to eliminate the error message that appears on my screen.
Is there a way I can accomplish this?
Have just upgraded online from 18.10 to 19.04 (desktop 64 bit). BOINC has worked previously but now won't run. BOINC Manager is greyed out and shows 'connecting to localhost'. Trying 'boinccmd' always returns 'can't connect to local host'. It has been suggested that it's a firewall problem, but gufw doesn't have a profile for BOINC. Since this is only since upgrade could this be a Ubuntu 19.04 problem?
Whenever I try to access the settings of the BOINC manager (version 7.9.3(x64)), all I get is a grey box. How do I make the actual settings appear? I run it on Lubuntu 18.4.2 LTS.
i use to have when i have the computer turn on and was idle having more than 2 tasks running at same time.. but now this is not happens and it is enable at maximum of 2 tasks at same time, i don know why.
also i was able 2 do that on ubuntu 11.10 not sure if is the same using boinc on ubuntu 11.10.
so why this happens?
and how can i set up boinc 2 run more than just 2 tasks at same time in ubuntu 12.04 beta?
I was wondering how can i install boinc at /home folder. I have an ssd for root and /home on a hdd. Since boinc does lot of write/read i would like to avoid installing it on my ssd (which i already did via muon). I have trim enabled and working but i would still like to get it on my hdd. Do i have to uninstall/reinstall boinc and if yes how do i install it at /home folder? Thanks in advance :)
