Questions[budgie](ubuntu)

I'm stuck trying to install Ubuntu, I can use the live desktop but when I go to install it just never gets past the Updates and Other Software screen. The cursor spins and I've left it a good hour but nothing happens. I've successfully installed using the same USB drive on my laptop but my desktop won't have it.

I've tried minimal install, normal install, with 3rd party options and without. I've made sure secure boot isn't enabled too.

I've also tried Budgie with also gets stuck at the same place.

Specs:

i5-3570 16gb RAM GTX 970

1tb HDD 5X 120GB SSDs (not RAIDed)

Is there anything I can try?

Can anyone tell me if Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 LTS has an open source driver that supports an NVIDIA Gtx 1050 ti graphics card?

My CPU is an Intel E2140.

I haven't installed any new packages recently or added any PPAs, just ran apt update.

I tried switching back to nouoveau temporarily but due to apt being messed up I can't. The control file asks for all the dependencies to be *-2.2 but when I try to upgrade it's asking for *-2.1.

UPDATE I fixed it by running

sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/libglvnd-dev_1.0.0-2ubuntu2.2_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/libgles1_1.0.0-2ubuntu2.2_amd64.deb
sudo apt -f install

I don't know if this has been solved or not, and I didn't see it. I'm a complete noob to Ubuntu Budgie and I have 18.04 LTS with the latest updates.

I have Dropbox, Mega, and a few other things installed that are not showing in the System Tray at any point. Dropbox did for a little bit, but then it's gone. Mega, Thunderbird, qBittorrent, don't show up at all. pCloud and Skype show up right now, also when I turn on Franz it shows up.

Can someone please help? I'm sure this has been solved before but I'm not sure what's going on.

I want to change the Ubuntu Budgie login screen background to the one I'm currently using on my account; Just like it was with the previous Ubuntu versions with Unity with the draw-user-backgrounds option.
I already tried searching for that option or anything with "background" on it with dconf-editor but found nothing.
