I'm having a problem to install docker in Ubuntu 20.04.

Error message says that I need containerd (>= 1.2.6-0ubuntu1~)

It's strange as I already have even newer version which is 1.2.13-2

The system is updated. I already performed sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade and no new update required.

Today I noticed a new message when I login to my Ubuntu 18.04 docker container.

This system has been minimized by removing packages and content that are not required on a system that users do not log into.

To restore this content, you can run the 'unminimize' command.

This is however a container that I log into from time to time.

IMHO it is not a very sound strategy to change systems without user consent in this way but that leaving that aside for the moment, how I can prevent Ubuntu from minimizing my systems?

The minimization breaks functionality of my container and the unminimize command ends with an kernel error.

I have created the simpliest (minimal working example) Dockerfile to run graphical application on my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS host system with 19.10 insider container:

mkdir ~/docker-xclock

cat > ~/docker-xclock/Dockerfile << EOF
FROM ubuntu:19.10
RUN apt-get update
RUN apt-get install -y x11-apps
CMD xclock
EOF

Then created container with

docker build -t ubuntu:xclock ~/docker-xclock

When I try to run this container it shows the error about display:

$ docker run ubuntu:xclock 
Error: Can't open display: 

What is wrong?

I have a file/directory on the host that I want to copy into the LXD container.

What is the command to copy the host -> container?

I'm running on a Ubuntu 10.04, and installed an 8.04 version in a directory /stuff/hardy

sudo debootstrap --variant buildd --arch i386 hardy /stuff/hardy http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu

What I want to do is to get a working environment isolated from my linux machine (without installing into another partition).

My problem is, that when I chroot into it (sudo chroot /stuff/hardy) I notice that I have nothing in /proc or no network configuration. Also, if I try to go back to my home directory (inside hardy, not 10.4),

hardy# cd I get a /home/myuser No such file or directory

Is there an (hopefully easy) way to get an ubuntu install using debootstrap with no a lot of extra work ?
