When ever I try to load ubuntu like using the command:
sudo sh ~/Downloads/crouton -t unity
I will get the error:
sh: 0: Refusing to exec /home/chronos/user/Downloads/crouton from noexec mount
if anyone can help or relate please please help I am stuck here
I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 in Crouton on a Chromebook and I tried to install Flatpak. Everything went right while the installation, but I can't download anything from flathub and everytime I try to do something with flathub, it gives me an error.
Right now I tried to install the Spotify App, and It says
Unable to install "com.spotify.Client from flathub": While trying to apply extra data: apply_extra script failed, exit status 256
I didn't found anything in the internet about that. I used this tutorial to install Flatpak 1.6.2 (if that's useful information).
What can I do?
ChromeOS keeps taking up CPU usage to 100%, and messes with me running Linux apps, so I would like to remove ChromeOS and go Ubuntu-only. Linux was installed on this 14-ca052wm Chromebook using Crouton (more) and here's a screen shot from gparted 
of my 12 drive partitions.
I am on a Chromebook and am running a chroot. My Ubuntu version is 16.04.6 I want to upgrade to a newer version. Is this possible? If I look online, it says to open a program called update manager. For me, that program does not exist and when I type in the command to get that program, it says HTTP quit unexpectedly. Can anyone help?
I’m have a Chromebook and I wanted to be able to download things onto it, so I got Ubuntu Linux version 14.04 using Crouton. Everything seemed fine and dandy, until I tried to plug in a USB drive. The message that popped up said “Unable to mount 32 GB Volume. Not authorized to perform operation.” I then tried to access some of the folders and got similar messages. After searching the internet, I found the unlock button which should work, but when I hover over it with my mouse, it says “System Policy prevents changes. Contact your system administrator.” I never saw anything about a system policy and I can’t find anything about it. I’ve tried to download programs through trusty and it doesn’t work. At this point, I’ve conpletely uninstalled and reinstalled Ubuntu and I still have the problem. I have no idea what’s going on and I can’t find any answers myself. Can someone please help?
