I have to give a presentation, and I want to make the cursor look like a laser pointer.
It seems that Libreoffice Impress cannot do it.
Instead, I want to change the cursor theme temporarily during the presentation so that the mouse pointer looks like a laser beam. Is there a theme like that?
I hoping that someone here can advise a work-around for this bug I'm experiencing in autokey-gtk.
When I use a dark theme, the phrase editor is missing its typing cursor.
I see no settings to adjust this and would appreciate any advice that would lead to me to being able to use Autokey-gtk with a dark theme, while also having a visible typing cursor.
I'm working on customizing dmz-cursor-theme and i made an animated watch image , so Is there any method to check mouse cursor animation before generated them ?
I'm using Ubuntu budgie 18.04.1 with the adapta theme and papirus icon set. After successfully installing Guitar Pro 6 in a 64bit OS (which was a pain), Guitar Pro looks like an alien in my system. I know that GP is a 32bit and a GTK2 application and maybe because of that it looks out of place, however adapta has a GTK2 folder and I would like to make GP native looking . Even the cursor is the default X.org cursor, although when I take a print-screen , the cursor in the picture looks right
I was thinking about writing a script that toggles my desktop between regular use and screencasting mode. As part of that I would like to be able to programmatically set the my cursor to a different theme (bigger and higher visibility).
Is there any way I can do this from bash/python?

I would prefer to be able to set this without having to change the systemwide X.org configuration (just like KDE's systemsettings does). Looking into this a bit myself I found that you can actually update the corresponding KDE config file through kwriteconfig5:
kwriteconfig5 --file ~/.config/kcminputrc --group Mouse --key cursorTheme "Large Mouse Cursors"
The only problem is that the setting does not seem to be applied. The config file does update, but not the cursor. So there probably must be some kind of command that will cause KDE to reload the file and apply the new cursor theme (maybe something through dbus?). Sadly I haven't had any success in tracking that down, yet.
