Questions[google-earth](ubuntu)

I have the same problem as is described here but that question does not have an answer and its OP does not seem like they will ever answer the arisen questions.

I installed google-earth-pro-stable_current_amd64.deb via sudo apt install on Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit.

Deleting ~/.xinputrc did not change anything. When I log into a different account (account on my machine, that is – I do not think the commenter meant a different Google account (I did not log into any Google account)), I experience the exact same problem.

It is not like a glitch which occurs for a few seconds and then vanishes. Google Earth just is not usable because the map never shows up. It always shows the controls, part of the splash screen, and whatever was in the background when the application was launched.

ttf-mscorefonts-installer already was installed.

Using gdebi didn't resolve the problem either.

Neither did using the 32 bit version.

Are there more people who have problems with Google Earth 64-bit? I am an enthusiastic Ubuntu user. I have Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS 64 bit. I have the Google Earth 64 bit deb file downloaded from https://www.google.nl/intl/nl/earth/download/ge/agree.html and installed.

If I then start Google Earth, the first screen appears and the program stops immediately and then disappears from the screen. If I start Google Earth from the terminal window I get the following error messages:

Another crash happened while handling crash!

Who can help me? What's my Ubuntu missing? Or what should I install extra?

After installing Ubuntu 12.04LTS 64bit I am unable to launch Google Earth.

When I try to launch in terminal I get the following:

If I use Nautilus and navigate to "/opt/google/earth/free" "googleearth.bin" is there.

ADDITIONAL:

Tried creating a new profile and deleting my old profile, purging my system of Googleearth, used Janiter to remove all other references too, re-installed from fresh download, but same issue..

So how is it possible that a successful installation, with all the dependencies installed, and the googleearth.bin file there, confirmed, but will not launch, with the error "bash: ./googleearth.bin: No such file or directory"

I have files in .kml format. In windows 7 I opened them with Google Earth, but Google earth for Linux wrongly determines the place of workout on map.

What application can I use to work with these files?

I would like to install Google Earth under Ubuntu 10.10. Under v10.04 there were some problems. Has anyone been able to get it working satisfactorily? Was Wine used?
