I upgraded from 16.04 a while ago and got hamster time tracker to work with 18.04, but today after reboot the app is not launching any more. I click the launcher and nothing happens. How can I debug this? I recall there is a terminal command to start it, but cannot find it any more.

I'm pretty sure it is not this, but tried and got a syntax error

$ hamster-time-tracker

I'm trying to install the hamster time tracker in Kubuntu 20.04, but it seems quite difficult. Has anyone got it working?

hamster itself is not present in the official repos, but I installed hamster-snap from here. That works, but I'd also like to have a way to put it in the KDE system tray.

Earlier (in Kubuntu 16.04) that was possible with hamster-tray but that seems to be defunct now.

I can't find Hamster in the repositories for 18.04. Has this package been renamed?

Hamster seems to have an option that allows it to automatically switch activity whenever the workspace is switched.

However I can only configure Workspace 1, and even so it doesn't work (I'm using Unity on 12.04).

I have upgraded from an almost default 11.10 install to 12.04. All went well and I can login, logout, etc. without any problem.

One very interesting thing about the Project Hamster notifications, though. I have set Hamster to remind after every 27 mins. I do not get these notifications. However, if there is no activity set, I see the notification.

In 11.10, I used to get both the notifications.

What is wrong? How do I set it right?

By the way, the notifications work quite well in Unity. But in Gnome, the problem continues.
