Questions[icc](ubuntu)

I have an Epson ET2750 all in one and whilst the scanner works fine with Ubuntu, it always scans with a blue colour cast. Scanner to the memory card in the printer works correctly so I know it's Ubuntu.

I have used the scanner calibration built into Ubuntu settings but the built in scan software seems to ignore it. When xsane works, I can manually adjust the colour profile, and that works, but I'd rather use the built in software, since it seems that it's supposed to do what I'm asking. I've tried other scan utilities, xsane is the only one which seems to allow colour adjustment, but it's not reliable.

How do I get the scanner to use the colour calibration? Or how can I adjust something in the sane back end to adjust the blue cast by default?

I'm using up-to-date Ubuntu 19.10.

Epson SC p600 works fine with Default RGB and Default Grey icc profiles. If any other icc is selected (tried Argyll and proprietary profiles from PermaJet) print is stopped. Job Attributes table shows job-printer-state-message Filter failed and job-state-reasons job-completed-with-errors

The color on the screen of my Dell XPS 15 is rather blue-ish. The D55 (5500K) profile is too yellow and D60 is too cold.

Ideally I'd like a profile configured at 5700k, or somewhere in that zone. None of the other profiles suit my needs.

UPDATE: While I have yet to find a proper solution, I managed to tweak the color of my screen with redshift. Not an ideal solution, but it does the trick for the time being.

gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.color night-light-temperature <temperature>

How to apply icc color profile in xubuntu 18.04 ? I am trying to use xcalib but only thing i am getting is "Error - unsupported ramp size 0".

While I used HDF5 library without any problem with Ubuntu version 16.04 LTS, after I upgraded Ubuntu to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, I have trouble in installing HDF5 with Intel Fortran and C Compilers.

I successfully installed HDF5 with gcc and gfortran.

But, I need to install HDF5 with Intel Fortran and C Compilers to further usage of scientific computation codes which are only compatible with Intel compilers.

I installed szip-2.1.1 and zlib-1.2.11 in the path of $HOME/LIB using

• ifort version 18.0.2
• icc version 18.0.2 (gcc version 7.0.0 compatibility)
• icpc version 18.0.2 (gcc version 7.0.0 compatibility) (parallel_studio_xe_2018_update2_cluster_edition, compilers_and_libraries_2018.2.199)

with these flags in bash profile

export CC=icc
export CXX=icpc
export FC=ifort
export F9X=ifort
export CFLAGS='-O3 -xHost -ip'

and tried to install

hdf5-1.10.2

with following configuration

./configure --prefix=$HOME/LIB --with-zlib=$HOME/LIB --with-szip=$HOME/LIB LD_LIBRARY_PATH=-L/home/scyook/LIB/lib CPPFLAGS=-I/home/scyook/LIB/include --enable-fortran --enable-cxx --enable-fortran2003

However next error message appears.
