I'm running Konqueror in Kubuntu 21.10. Is there a way to persuade it to do listings in a single column rather than three columns?

Update 1: Konqueror is not the only Ubuntu program with this behavior, so a general solution would be very useful. The three-column format defies easy scrolling through a long list. To see the third column, you need to scroll horizontally, which is awkward and unnatural. It also makes list selection nearly impossible.

As it happens in Konqueror 5.0.97 there is no sidebar which was earlier toggled by F9, which is sad, because it was very useful. Still, is it possible to view the attached devices (harddrive, usb) as separate links as it was earlier or as it is in Dolphin? Or maybe it is possible somehow to use an earlier version of Konqueror with the sidebar? I am using Ubuntu 18.

I'm using konqueror on Kubuntu 18.04.

ffmpegthumbnailer and kffmpegthumbnailer are installed and the preview for video files is activated in dolphin. (Konqueror does not provide an option for this any more.)

In dolphin the preview images are visible, in konqueror not.

What do I need to do, to show the images in konqueror also?

I'd like to use Konqueror because I found a comparison between different file managers that stated that Konqueror one of the most customizable file managers. However, in my case the configuration or extensions modal is almost empty. When I start Konqueror using the CLI, I see these error messages:

org.kde.konqueror: Unable to load the "File Management" configuration module org.kde.konqueror: Unable to load the "Web Browsing" configuration module

Unfortunately, I can't find anything related to this error message.

I installed Konqueror using apt install konqueror, which installed version 5.0.97. I'm using Kubuntu 18.10 with Plasma 5.13.5.

Any idea how I can configure Konqueror? Why are those modals (almost) empty?

I keep installing this program and when I try to use it a few days later it invariably is no longer present and I have to reinstall it. Similarly, I keep uninstalling Dolphin, because it sets itself to automatically be the default file browser. The only way I could find to use the other file navigator by default was to uninstall Dolphin. However, I periodically find that Dolphin has automatically reinstalled itself and reappointed itself the default file browser.

Anyone know why this happens and how I can put a stop to it?
