Questions[logo](ubuntu)

I have an old Dell Latitude E6330 laptop, it has this logo at boot time:

I have dual boot, and when Windows boots, it correctly displays the large DELL circle logo.

But when Ubuntu boots, after the grub menu, it chooses the small Energy icon instead.

So I have not one but several questions related to this:

• Why is Plymouth displaying the wrong image?
• How does Ubuntu pick the logo image from EFI?
• Can I help it choose the correct logo image to display during the boot process?
• Or even better: can I customize it?

I use Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, dual-booted with Win10. Whenever I boot the system, it takes ~3 minutes. Also before the login screen, this thing comes up of which I am attaching a screenshot.

What does this logo stands for and if this is the reason for high boot time, how to get rid of it?

I checked out How do I enable or disable Apport? and did sudo systemctl disable apport.service and now apport-autoreport.service is not there. But fstrim is still taking a huge amount of time. I went through https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2410364 but wasn't able to get a satisfying answer.

how to change the boot logo(with commands) for 18.04 LTS

This is something I have noticed happening for a long time now, and I see it in various flavours of Ubuntu. At the moment I happen to be using Ubuntu Studio.

As the system boots past grub, you get a nice graphical Ubuntu Studio animated logo for a while, but then, just before the login screen appears, it drops back to the text console, where you see various things at different times (like system startup logging - as you'd see if you pressed escape while Plymouth is displaying the logo, and even a login prompt at times), but typically it at least shows the filesystem status (as clean usually), then it switches back to graphical mode for the login dialog.

It would look very much neater if it didn't flash the text console on screen like this. I am just wondering why it does this, and would like a fix? I know it's no biggy. I just get curious about odd things :)
