I have Ubuntu desktop 16.04.6 LTS xenial. My Mathematica 12.1 is working and, while I can launch it from the GUI shortcut, I cannot launch it from the terminal.

I don't know if something went wrong during installation, but there are no mathematica binaries in /usr/bin/, and /usr/local/Wolfram/Mathematica/12.1/Executables/ is not in the $PATH. Should I do one of these manually?

How can I solve this?

While opening Mathematica 9, it says:

/usr/local/Wolfram/Mathematica/9.0/SystemFiles/FrontEnd/Binaries/Linux-x86-64/Mathematica: /usr/local/Wolfram/Mathematica/9.0/SystemFiles/Libraries/Linux-x86-64/libz.so.1: version `ZLIB_1.2.9' not found (required by /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpng16.so.16)

I have recently upgraded my desktop PC from Ubuntu 18.10 to 19.04. Now I am getting the following error when I try to start ̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶g̶r̶a̶m̶s̶ Wolfram Mathematica 11.3:

symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfontconfig.so.1: undefined symbol: FT_Done_MM_Var

I tried to check this command:

$ ldd /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfontconfig.so.1

But I am not that advanced linux user to understand what all these things mean.

Has anyone seen this problem?

I add some new .m file to /usr/local/Wolfram/Mathematica/9.0/AddOns/Packages/ and then call for it in Mathematica, but failed with the message Get::noopen: "Cannot open \!\(\"Qdensity.m\"\).".

What should I do to make it work?
