I have reported a LibreOffice Impress bug here. In that bug, the text of a slide went beyond the page margin

Although it looked fine in Microsoft PowerPoint

Now I cannot reproduce the bug anymore. LibreOffice Impress, the same version used to report the bug and also provided by Canonical, seems to display it correctly.

One major change that happened is that I installed wine. Is it possible that wine installed some fonts that were not originally present, and so when I reported the bug LibreOffice was resorting to some other alternative font?

I have some .pptx presentation files, which were annotated with a stylus in an online class. These annotations do not show up in LibreOffice Impress 7.0.3.1 in Xubuntu 20.04 (I am using the LibreOffice Fresh PPA).

1. Is there any way to see these annotations with LibreOffice?
2. If not, can they be viewed with any other free (as in freedom) software?

I have few slides sent by my professor. In those slides, each slide is embeded with an audio file. I want to view them as a video file.

In Microsoft Office PowerPoint for Windows, there is an option in export as to convert it to .mp4 format. What it does is make the slide as the image and puts the recorded voice as the audio file. And the output is a .mp4 file.

Is this type of export possible on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I have LibreOffice Impress in which under export as options, there is only a.pdf format option.

For work, I have to deal with Powerpoint docuements from diverse sources.

I open them in LibreOffice Impress, and I always have the following problem: fonts are much larger than in the original Powerpoint document, resulting in bad formating, texts out of boxes, etc.

I guess I'm not the only one with this problem, but I couldn't find any comprehensive description of the mechanisms involved, nor any solution, exept going on every slide to change every font size...

Notice I have msttf core fonts (arial, etc...) installed, but I think some fonts used (by default) in Powerpoint are not included in this font set.

So my question: is there a way to set a better default font size when importing from Powerpoint to Impress ?

I do presentations for educational courses (university, college, schools). With many slides, lots of videos and pictures.I had been using WPS presentation software (kingsoft) on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS; since it allowed me to insert videos. As of now whenever I insert a video or a picture it hangs. I need to reboot the software. This issue persists despite updating the software or reinstalling the software with the latest update

Is there any other software which can

• Be installed on the Linux laptop (free version or open source)
• Has inbuilt slide transitions
• Can insert videos (2 min - 7 min)
• Can handle large pictures
• Has some learning tools or videos for initial hang of the software.

P.S. I have tried using Latex Beamer but I am not sure if videos can be inserted and slide transitions are available. TIA
