Running a program that uses MPI gives me an "Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key" warning on Ubuntu 20.04. I only recently upgraded; I was having no such issues when I was using 19.10.

I want to know what's going wrong.

Here are some system results:

I'm running openmpi on Ubuntu 20.04. All programs with MPI_Init() is giving me the same warning.

I am facing a weird issue. Whenever I run programs compiled with openmpi (version 4.0.3, the default on ubuntu 20.04 LTS), the following line is printed on the terminal Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE key.

I have managed to pinpoint it to programs that are compiled with openmpi. If i compile a dummy program in C, I manage to reproduce the error. If I compile the same program with mpich, the message does not appear. Does anyone have a solution? Is there a simple way I could downgrade or change the openmpi version on my ubuntu 20.04 LTS installation?

I searching on internet how to download the MPICH in my laptop, and something is going wrong... I don't know what is happening. I am using ubuntu 18.04. Someone know any good installation video, or doc to use and download it? I am trying to do the installation since 3 days and I can't... Sorry for the silly question

I just downloaded openmpi 1.10.2 from https://www.open-mpi.org/software/ompi/v1.10/ and installed it on my ubuntu 14.04LTS(./configure then make all install). But when I try to use mpiCC to compile a .cpp file, I get the error:

mpiCC: error while loading shared libraries: libopen-pal.so.13: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Some people on the internet say that putting the path of the lib directory under the openmpi directory into the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environmental variable should solve the problem, but it didn't!

Also, it seems that there is no file by the name "libopen-pal.so.13" on my computer. The closest ones I could find under /usr/lib/openmpi/lib are libopen-pal.so and libopen-pal.so.4.0.5.

What should I do?
