Questions[nextcloud](ubuntu)

I recently started using a Nextcloud instance for my calendar events. I am able to sync events so they show up in the GNOME Calendar app, but there are many duplicates. Is there some place where events are cached locally where I can examine them or clean them up?

The events display properly in the Nextcloud Calendar app -- I don't see any duplicates. I only see the duplicates in GNOME Calendar.

I looked in locations mentioned in In what file does gnome-calendar store calendar events? but I didn't see any actual calendar event data, just references to the calendar webdav URIs.

I tried deleting and re-adding my Nextcloud account in the "Online Accounts" settings dialog. I tried disabling and re-enabling Calendar synchronization for my Nextcloud account.

I'm using:

• Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
• Nextcloud 19.0.3 (latest stable)
• GNOME Calendar 3.36.2

If I run:

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

it seems to run ok. At least it says ok. But the nextcloud login page is not served. The browser gives an error page you get if the site does not exist.

Sometimes, actually only twice until now, it works already the first time. But usually not. Then I have to execute the command again. And after that it always works again.
I looked for error entries in logs but could not find any.

If I check the status of apache2 it says it is ok.
service apache2 status gives me:

The error.log at /var/log/apache2 is empty.

Is there anywhere else I can look why this is not working? Any other logfiles. Or did I miss an error in the files I posted?

The system is a LXC container Ubuntu 18.04 running on Proxmox 5.4. All systems are up-to-date. It is only configured to host nextcloud (version 17) with PostgreSQL Database.
Just running the command a second time and everything is fine (every time). I would like to understand the problem where it is coming from. And have information on more places to look for error messages.

I am wondering what the difference is between the Documents option and Files option for a Nextcloud Ubuntu online account.

• The Files one seem to add a dav shortcut to my file explorer. If I disable Files, the dav shortcut goes away.
• When I enable / disable Documents, I see no obvious changes.

Neither one seems to actually sync files - I had to install a desktop client for that.

Under 18.04 I could start a new LibreOffice document, click Save, navigate to my nextcloud "Online Account" and save the file.

Under 19.04 I navigate to the share/folder and on hitting Save it gives two errors:

Error saving the document Foo: Non-existent file.

and then

Error saving the document Foo: General Error. General input/output error.

The only workaround I've found is to save to the desktop, then cut-and-paste (because drag n drop no longer works either, #upgradeRegret) from there to a Nautilus (Files) window that's showing the nextcloud share where it should live.

Oddly, if I open an existing document on a nexcloud share it opens in LibreOffice no problem and I can save to it no problem, too.

Is there a fix for this?

How can I uninstall NextCloud completely from this installation?

I have no idea why this server cam with NextCloud installed but I need it gone
