Questions[openbox](ubuntu)

Lubuntu 19.10 and 20.04 (LTS) use Openbox as the window manager.

For Lubuntu 18.04 and 19.04, the file that allowed users to edit various Openbox settings, lubuntu-rc.xml and lxqt-rc.xml, respectively, has a section titled "Keybindings for window tiling" with keyboard shortcuts for

• HalfLeftScreen
• HalfRightScreen
• HalfUpperScreen and
• HalfLowerScreen

That section is missing in ~/.config/openbox/lxqt-rc.xml of Lubuntu 19.10 and 20.04 (LTS).

I followed the instructions in the release notes to delete

and to log out and log back in. However, lxqt-rc.xml still doesn't have the window tiling section.

I understand that there have been some conflicts with how the Super also known as Meta key conflicted somehow with LXQt. (All the window tiling keyboard shortcuts originally used the Super key.)

What can users of Lubuntu 19.10 and 20.04 do to get back "window tiling" keyboard shortcuts?

In Sublime Text 3 column selection shortcuts are Ctrl+ALT+Up and Ctrl+ALT+Down. Same shortcuts are defined In Lubuntu (/Openbox) as GoToDesktop Up or Down, respectively. I commented those shortcuts out in ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml and now they don't work anymore (they don't switch to related Desktop), but they still don't work in Sublime Text 3 too.

How could I determine, what is eating those shortcuts away, so they don't reach to Sublime?

I would like to remove the following items in the openbox client menu:

• Send to Desktop
• Restore
• Move
• Resize
• Iconify
• Maximize
• Roll up/down
• Un/Decorate

This is the menu you can invoke by right clicking on the window decorations or with ALT + Space.

Is there any way I can achieve this?

I am trying to configure my openbox's menu.xml, and I would like to define a menu entry which launch a maximize application, for example firefox.

        <action name="Execute">
            <execute>firefox</execute>
        </action>
        <action name="Maximize" />
    </item>
</menu>

But it doesn't work. After some test, I think that only the first action is execute.

Someone have a solution ?

I am using Openbox Environment in Ubuntu 11.10, i wanted to know if there is any way to make it Decently-Aesthetic.

• Change Wallpaper
• Change Iconset
• Add Menubar
• Thats it
