Questions[randr](ubuntu)

This is my first day with Ubuntu 20.04. I was researching in google for a feature like AMD virtual resolution and came with randr and tested it.

I set it to unsupported resolution, and I got "input is not supported". I tried using google chrome remote but no luck. I restarted after that and that's where the login loop began for me.

I uninstalled gdm3 and installed lightdm and not it wont even boot to os. i do plan on reinstalling but just in case on future this happened again what fixes can i do?

After upgrading to 18.04 my screen suddendly switched upside down, since my Laptop apparently has a rotation sensor. I temporarily fixed it with xrandr -o normal and disabled the gnome rotation sensor, because I could not fix the problem by physically holding my laptop upside down. The problem is, that the rotation switches back to inverted with every restart.

I tried to write a script, which executes the xrandr command with every restart and added a xrandr --output eDP-1 --rotate normal in the gdm3 file, but none of that works.

Is there any way to set the default orientation back to normal or write a working script, which fixes the problem at a restart (including stand-by).

I tried to save my arandr settings to a ~/.screenlayout/default.sh path, but that doesn't work.

I have a projector, which doesn't come with horizontal keystone correction builtin, only vertical correction. I've seen that it is possible to do it with xrandr, using the --transform parameter, but needs matrix coordinates and I'm lost. There's a GUI, ARandR, but doesn't support transformations.

I've also checked MapMap project, but seems a v4l2 virtual video device stream fed by ffmpeg's x11grab isn't well recognized to use it as source.

Do you know any other alternative to transform the screen (free style, like a trapezoid)?

Is there something similar on Wayland display server?

How can I use the recent beta of the 302 version of the nvidia driver (which finally supports the RandR extension!) with a realtime kernel in Precise?

This question contains information on enabling the current 295 version for the 3.4 kernel with the RT patch. But I'm looking for an answer that installs the nvidia driver using the package manager rather than nvidia's installer (whose installations break every so often due to the package management system overwriting files).
