Questions[reverse-proxy](ubuntu)

Server is setup with the full desktop install of Kubuntu Linux 18.04LTS. I Nginx, and Apache2 installed. I also have Gogs installed. And I have 4 cert's from Let's Encrypt installed.

From a web browser on any of the computers on my LAN (and because I've edited my HOSTS file on them), I can get to any of the 4 web sites on my server using i.e. , , ,

where Domain1 and Domain 2 are served from the Apache2, reverse-proxied from Nginx. Domain3 and Domain4 are served directly from Nginx, with Domain 4 actually serving up the Gogs service. The MyEncrypt stuff all goes through Nginx. It seems to all be working well, except that I can't access any of these 4 domains from the browser on my server. I realize having a browser on a server is a bit unusual, and it is perhaps not a major problem, but shouldn't there be some way to make it work? All I get are timeout errors from it.

So I know this is not ideal but I have it set up so that all my queries to my external facing services go to the internet then back to local since I have not yet configured the proper DNS records here.

If I access the sites from any other machine on my network it is fine but my Ubuntu desktop install seems to be blocking these queries for an unknown reason. I was hoping someone might have some ideas on what I can try. I have spent about 3 hours now googling with nothing to show for it other than I tested and the queries are not even making it to my DNS server(s).

I'm trying to run pgadmin4 behind an Nginx reverse proxy but I'm having an issue because I need for pgadmin to know it is at myhost.com/pgadmin and not simply at myhost.com.... or at least I think that is the problem.

In other web apps there is usually some setting called webroot or something like that to designate that it should consider itself located there but I can't find anything like that for pgadmin4.

Does this setting exist, if so, where is it?

If not, is there a workaround?

I have ubuntu 16.04 with nginx and apache2. There are 2 DNS A records pointed to this machine:

• app1.mydomain.com
• app2.mydomain.com

I need app1.mydomain.com to be resolved by apache and app2.mydomain.com to be resolved by nginx. Both on port 80. Is it possible?

moreover apache needs to handle 2 different applications (site1 and site2).

I would like:

• app1.mydomain.com/site1 - to be resolved by apache and run application site1
• app1.mydomain.com/site2 - to be resolved by apache and fire application site2
• app2.mydomain.com - to serve ghost application with nginx

I've got a problem with my Apache installation on Ubuntu 17.10.

On this machine I have classic (I suppose) LAMPP installation with Apache, PHP and MySQL database for supporting owncloud and webmin.

Everything was working fine since a couple of days ago when I installed utorrent following this guide.

Of course, I choosed for the Apache version (I skipped the ngix part) and everything seamed to be OK.

But it was not...because since then, I was not able to reach my server from my LAN anymore.

If I browse from this local machine, all my sites are working fine. Even with the loopback address or the local address. But from the the other PCs of the LAN, they don't respond anymore.

I suppose that was beacause of the reverse proxy step of the utorrent guide, but I'm not sure about it and I don't know how to check it.

I also checked ufw for the firewall and all the ports needed are correctly opened.

So, my question is: how can I correctly diagnose the problem? How can I check what's going on with apache?
