Questions[snap-windows](ubuntu)

I am using Ubuntu 18.04.5

I commonly snap two windows to the edges so that they both take up half a screen. Then I will take one of those windows and make it a little bigger, so that it overlaps the other window.

I am not sure what this feature is called, but recently when I try and resize one of the half-screen windows to be wider, the second window resizes to be smaller in tandem. I would like this to never happen, and have the default behavior be that resizing causes them to overlap.

Anyone know how I can do this?

The shortcut-keys Super + ←/→ work fine in other apps but not with Libreoffice but Libreoffice works fine with Super + ↑/↓.

I have tried to drag but only works with the same functions as the shortcuts.

My system is Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS

will it fix if I upgrade?

It's like this problem but instead of nautlius with libreoffice.

Sorry for the long title and caps. Just wanted to emphasise the with mouse part. I know using a keyboard to snap and then using the mouse or keyboard to restore doesn't mess up the size or position. I'm talking about dragging a window with the mouse to an edge and then restoring it with the mouse or keyboard.

Dragging to the top of the screen also does nothing.

• Dragging windows to the left or right does nothing
• Ctrl+Super+Up maximizes successfully,
• Ctrl+Super+Down unmaximizes, and minimizes windows
• Dragging windows to the bottom of the screen moves them to the lower workspace
• Alt+ClickDrag windows moves that window

I don't recall messing with any settings, it just happened all of a sudden

The auto resize feature is not working on my Ubuntu 18.04. I even tried Unity Tweak, but this also doesn't work. I used to use this feature in my Ubuntu 16.04 a lot, dragging my open windows to the sides and Ubuntu does the resizing job for me automatically. But, since I have installed 18.04, it doesn't work.
