I'm using systemback for creating a live system for copying my os to another machine easily, but the file copied to '/' directory is not coming in live image. Please anyone have some insight regarding this or can recommend any other application like systemback which can work for my situation.

Copying my system (included user data copy ) to internal HD, systemback stopped with error 22 and aborted the copy.

The copy of all files within /home dir can be done using normal copy / paste from file manager, but not using systemback copy option that includes userdata.

I cloned my Ubuntu 18.04 installation to an SSD with the program "systemback" and named it Ubuntuclone. I use Ubuntuclone with my MacBook Pro for a separate OS. While my mac is booting I hit the alt button. I then see three options:

  1. MacOs
  2. Windows
  3. EFI

When I choose Windows or EFI, Ubuntu works fine but the problem is this, when I restart or shut down the Ubuntuclone and open it again all the things I have done is gone. For example I have to reenter the password of the wifi, or a saved document is gone. Everything goes back to cloned status and I cannot save anything.

I open any suggestion to solve this.

I am using ubuntu desktop from quite some time but I am a little new to ubuntu server. I purchased a VPS, install and configure different programs and now it is in running state. I want to make some changes but before making those changes I want to make a restore point, so if something goes wrong I can go back to a working state.

In Ubuntu desktop version, I use systemback for this purpose. I know systemback have a CLI version, and I found this tutorial for server backup & restore but unfortunately it is not working.

I will be grateful if someone can share an alternative way of doing this. Can we do this with timeshift? any other recommended method? step by step tutorial will be greatly appreciated.

P.S: I have ubuntu 16.04 as my server os and using VPS for a Magento shop.
