The Quick Tile Window keyboard shortcut Super+Arrow left makes the window in focus occupy the left half of the screen. Super+Arrow right makes the focused window occupy the right half.
By using these two shortcuts, two windows occupy space in a 1:1 ratio.
How can I modify these shortcuts to have the left window occupy 45% and the right window 55%?
I use window tiling with keyboard shortcuts a lot on my Ubuntu. However, back in the days when I was using an XP OS at work, I found a great tiling manager software called Splitview. The difference which Splitview creates is when you press -let's say- Ctrl+Alt+6 the window spans the right half of the screen. But, if you repeat the same key combination, this time, the window spans right 1/3 of the screen 
.
So, I could practically tile 3 windows vertically which was obviously increasing my productivity. Since then (namely since Ubuntu 8.04) I am searching for such a feature time to time. Do you know of any similar extensions? To be honest, I don't want to try new X managers.
Is there any way to stretch a window using a keyboard shortcut to fullscreen or to the left half or right half within the MATE desktop environment? I am missing Super + Up or Super + Left.
Over the summer, I had the opportunity to use a Macbook for my internship. Although I really did enjoy it, I missed the customization of Ubuntu. However, there was one app that I really missed, called Mosaic. It was a graphical interface to window tiling, where I can drag a window over an icon and its snaps to a respective position and size. Does anyone know of an alternative for Ubuntu, preferably Gnome?
I have an external 4K display on my laptop with plenty of space, that I usually use like four individual monitors in a grid. So I tend to put one window in every corner of the screen (IDE, terminal, browser, etc.). In Ubuntu 16.04, Unity offered to option to automatically place windows there by moving them to the screen edge or screen corner, so you had 8 options on where to put a window just by moving it around (top left corner, top half, top right corner, right half, etc.). Now in Ubuntu 18.04, only the Windows-like behaviour seems to be implemented with maximize (top edge), left half (left edge) and right half (right edge). Is there a way to get the additional areas back as in Unity?
