I updated my Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop to Ubuntu 18.04.4, and started having problems with dual displays.
For example I get into my user account, I connect my secondary display, and both displays start flashing black and grey repeatedly. When I disconnect the other display it gets back to the desktop.
After a fresh install of 18.04, the touchpad does not work at all on my Toshiba Satellite S55-A5295. Wireless Logitech mouse works perfectly. After an hour of Googling, I'm not able to find a solution. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
After running sudo do-release-upgrade this morning to upgrade my system from Ubtunu 17.10 to 18.04 LTS, I encountered errors during the upgrade. The trace is too long to post in it's entirety, but here is the part that (to me) looks like the problem:

I've browsed the forums for solutions and can preemptively confirm that the entries in /etc/fstab are not commented out. cat /etc/fstab outputs the following:

The system is a dual-booted with Windows 10. Through lsb_release -a I can confirm that my Ubuntu partition did update to 18.04 LTS, but these errors unnerve me and I don't want them causing problems in the long term. Thank you.
I have a toshiba l655d-s5145. There is no physical toggle for the wireless, although the f8 key is supposed to do the trick. It doesn't. The wireless has been working since October, and suddenly, nothing. RFKILL reports that the wireless is hard blocked, but unblock wifi, unblock 0, unblock all do nothing. I inserted a usb dongle, and that is also disabled by hardware switch, although rfkill reports that it is neither hard nor soft blocked. My onboard wireless is

according to lspci. Lsmod reports that these drivers are loaded.

I resorted to reformatting the drive and reinstalling, but that also did not work. In BIOS I restored system defaults as there is no specific entry for wifi. Before reinstalling a pure xubuntu I went into Unity and saw that the airplane mode was on and despite being toggled off, it returned to the on position. I'm not sure where to find airplane mode in Xubuntu. What else can I do? I need my wireless.
My Toshiba Satellite m505-s4940's fans do not turn on automatically, so it was overheating before I learned how to do it manually by using this keyboard-shortcut:fn+F3
I have to do this every time I use my computer!
I really like the performance of Ubuntu, and I just began to use and love it, but I would like to solve this problem.
Hopefully someone can help me, and sorry about my English. It is not my native language : )
