Questions[xfwm4](ubuntu)

I like the way Foxit Reader can change the color of both pdf text background and font; I have books in pdf format that I need to read on the laptop and I want to control the colors of text area. (I have other options to achieve the same purpose - more here) but I would prefer to use Foxit Reader instead of Adobe Reader (not supported anymore, albeit installable on my system) and Master PDF Editor (more of an editor than a reader).

Foxit Reader doesn't follow system theming on Linux for the moment, but that wouldn't be such a big problem for me if it had a full-screen option. But it lacks that too. There is no such option within the program and its window doesn't enter full-screen mode with F11 as other program's windows do.

I am especially interested in Xfwm4 in Xfce, but I would like to know if other window managers can force full-screen on an application that doesn't cover that aspect itself.

How come the window manager cannot force full-screen on any window? Can that limitation be overcome? Is there a difference between window managers when it comes to that?

On my xubuntu I have this horrible software heading:

I want to remove it. A post said to download xfce-theme-manager, so I did everything I had to do:

1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rebuntu16/other-stuff
2. sudo apt update
3. sudo apt-get install xfce-theme-manager

When I try to install xfce theme manager I get an error along the lines of xfce-theme-manager doesn't exist (My language is Italian, so I don't know the exact translation)

What can I do to install xfce-theme-manager or at least, not having those software headings anymore?

I am running xubuntu 18.04.

I recently installed the nvidia proprietary drivers.

I have three monitors.

When I lock my screen using light-locker my left-most monitor turns off and the other two monitors mirror each other at a 800x600 resolution.

I had a similar-but-not-identical problem with my login screen, which I solved: How to adjust display settings for LightDM greeter on 18.04?

How do I apply a similar solution to my lock screen? I'm assuming it's a different configuration file but I can't find where it might be.

As per title, I'd like to install the development version (4.13) of xfwm4 insfead of the regular 4.12 since I've found out that it now supports vsync and opengl and thus removes tearing completely (i.e. no more need for Compton). Unfortunately the only way to install it seems to be from source but, while that's not usually a problem, I've read somewhere (I can't find it anymore) that I'd have to remove xfwm4 4.12 to install 4.13, and that worried me a bit. Also I tried looking something up on askubuntu but only got this question, upgrade xfce4 applications to the latest versions , that doesn't solve my "problem".

So the question is: is there a step-by-step guide or ppa that can ease the installation process? I know that arch has xfwm4-git in the aur but I can't seem yo find anything similar for Ubuntu. Thank you in advance for any help.

I'm running Xubuntu 17.10. I've managed to configure keyboard shortcuts to tile windows either to the right or to the left using s-right and s-left. However, I have multiple display and what I would really like is to replicate the behaviour later versions of Windows: if a window is already tiled to the left when I press s-left then it should be moved to the display on the left. But I cannot even find any shortcut for moving the window to another display.

Is there any simple solution to this?
