tried installing mysql jdbc driver... seemed to install and yet.. when I run HIVE schematool it is not found

I downloaded the ubuntu 22.04 mysql-jdbc driver from this site

and yet.. when i go to use it via the HIVE schematool...

is that connector NOT the JDBC driver? I tried all manner of packages from apt and they too failed to seem to install the needed class

EDIT: I manually copied the jar into a area I know schema tool can see it.. and got a new error
