Package/binary
mtr
does what you need. By default (I think), Ubuntu hasmtr-tiny
installed.It should start with a GTK window, but you can always invoke it with
mtr --gtk
ormtr -- curses
to specify what you want.Try Open Visual Traceroute. Available on Sourceforge. It uses Java and works well in Ubuntu 12.04 and 13.04.
1. Install Oracle Java 7 JRE
2. Download and install Open Visual Traceroute
3. Create an Open Visual Traceroute launcher
