I installed Ubuntu 24.04 with Gnome / Wayland recently and installed XFCE additionally with lightdm. When checking my graphics I get
Graphics:

When booting a Xubuntu live iso however I'm getting:
Graphics:
Device-1: AMD driver: amdgpu v: kernel
Display: x11 server: X.Org v: 21.1.11 driver: X: loaded: amdgpu

So, the Ubuntu XFCE session still uses Xwayland while the Xubuntu session is a pure x11 session. Is there any way to get rid of Xwayland or is it ok to just leave it? Is there any drawback when using Ubuntu with XFCE compared to Xubuntu?
Yes, you can just chose on the login screen an XFCE session that mentions "X11" in its name.
That's another question. XFCE Wayland support is considered experimental, so it may or may not work. As Archisman mentioned in the comments, you can use it if it works. Just be on the lookout for possible issues and remember that it's experimental.
No, not at all. They're both packaged from the same repo, the only difference is that Xubuntu has everything pre-installed, whereas in case of Ubuntu you installed XFCE manually.
