You're in luck! Just the other day I was trying to do this and found out how.
gconf-editor
and then press Entermouse_wheel_action
rowshade
as the value. Press okay and voila!For 12.10
Run this command in a terminal:
Alternatively, you can use dconf-editor to edit the settings.
Open
dconf-editor
and navigate toorg
→compiz
→gwd
and entershade
formouse-wheel-action
