All Questions(ubuntu)

On my Kubuntu Laptop, I installed an AppImage and created a .desktop file for it. Now when I start the application the icon is shown in the window bar but not when searching for the application in the application menu. Here are some informations about the icon file I'm using:

PNG image data, 100 x 100, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced

I don't think I did anything wrong with the icon path, otherwise the icon wouldn't be displayed in the first image.

Using apt list --installed I got a list of installed packages. I have plenty of time and wanted to go through the list and see what's what. Are they all executable? I see that accountsservice is the first one on the list, but it's not executable as far as I can see. It just returns command not found. Third on the list is adduser, and that is executable. I know that's a standalone command too.

Are some of them system applications that can only be called by the OS and cannot actually be executed individually?

I want to my laptop running Ubuntu to the white list of an Android WiFi hotspot. Doing hostnamectl returns, amongst other information, a Static hostname, an Icon name, a Machine ID, and a Boot ID. Which of these is the right one?

I got the MAC address of the wlan0 interface by doing ip addr in the terminal and added it, together with the Static hostname, to the white list, but the connection fails. Signal strength is very good and the WPA2 password is correct.

PS.: On a Windows 10 machine, you get the corresponding name by doing hostname in the command line or looking it up in Settings > System > About under "Device name".

When I use deb version of Emby I can reach my nfs with no problem, /mnt/main, when I try to use the snap version of emby, I received denied and it keeps pointing to /root/snap I am new to Linux and Ununtu, so not that familiar with commands and file system yet.

The reason why I want to use the snap version it is updated automatically.

Every now and then my system is not properly suspending. Shutting the lid, choosing to suspend from the graphic interface or running a command is shutting down the screen, but the system will come back up again after a few seconds. Running troubleshooting shows that some devices are blocking the system from suspending. What can be done to allow my system to suspend?
