I tried to use chrome browser latest to cast tab or desktop. It used to work on my Ubuntu 20.04 on same laptop. is it a bug on 20.10?
I am using VLC 4.0.0 on Ubuntu 20.04. I want to play a video on my Chromecast 3. However, when I open the renderer menu it appears empty -- not even "Local", one option I had before upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04. See image below.
How can I get VLC to search for my Chromecast, so I can cast video?
Im using 2019 samsung curved smart tv version UN55RU7300FXZA and a ubuntu version 18.04.4 LTS
.I've tried using the built inn chrome cast but the tv noticed on my laptop but it tells me source not supported.But I've noticed in the connections menu that it works with only windows 8 and 10 versions.And i don't wan to buy a device ,has anyone found an app on the samsung apps or any wireless way to connect.or some one who has their code on Github.
I recently purchased chromecast 2 and wanted to use it with Ubuntu 18.04. I searched here and saw all answers were from 2013 and nothing works. There is also an addon on chrome apps but that is old and discontinued. (Link)

I just saw the video about Chromecast and I am interested in knowing how can I enable this on my Ubuntu PC. My TV has an HDMI port.
