Questions[framerate](ubuntu)

Frame rate is only 5FPS@1920X1080 for Aukey PC-W1 although the webcam is capable of 30fps at that resolution.

• In some programs like VLC it allows me to set the FPS higher but even though set higher it is still showing at 5FPS in reality.
• In OBS it shows the FPS is locked and for each resolution is only one FPS option (1920x1080@5FPS, 1280x720@10FPS, 848x480@20FPS, 640x480@30FPS etc.) That makes the webcam unusable for HD streaming.
• My hardware other than the webcam is not causing the problem. My CPU usage is usually between 10-50%.
• In Cheese it's showing also at 5FPS.
• Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS

My issue:

Dual monitors setup with one 1080p @60hz and another monitor 1440p @144hz. Running on proprietary Nvidia driver 440. Monitor is properly setup at 144hz from display settings and the other one at 60hz. I can clearly see that only the mouse cursor is running at 144hz but other windows ect.. are stuck at 60hz. If I disconnect my 60hz monitor, then the issue is fixed and everything is running at 144hz on my main monitor (cursor + windows).

Trying to find a solution on the internet, I understand that this issue has been around for a while with Gnome Desktop. Is there any news / update on it? Any workaround or bug report to Ubuntu team ?

I made the switch to Ubuntu 3 days ago and noticed that my screen refresh rate is at 144hz. But only my mouse move at 144hz and other apps like the terminal or Firefox only run at 60hz. I tried everything I could see on the web but no success. Any help? I’m running the 18.04 LTS on a laptop

I use Ubuntu 17.10 with KDE Plasma 5 installed and I'd like to show the frames per second. A simple counter of any kind would suffice. Is there any way of doing so?

Is there any simple way to find the fps of a video in ubuntu? In windows I use Gspot to find out all the information about a video file. But in ubuntu I find it very difficult to find out this basic information. Any help is appreciated.
