Questions[hunspell](ubuntu)

From Scribus 1.4.2 on, Scribus should find previously installed dictionaries while installing and be able to use them. With version 1.5.5 from the repository this doesn't seem to work. Although different dictionaries have been installed via LibreOffice, the option from the menu "Extras/Check Spelling" only shows "English (US)". Furthermore I can't find an option within Scribus to install additional dictionaries.

I use three installations on three computers, all of them Ubuntu 20.04. On one of them I can select from all installed dictionaries, on the two others there's only "English (US)".

Hunspell is not installed on any of the three.

What am I missing here?

There's an Orthographic Agreement for the Portuguese (pt_PT) language but some places won't accept the new gramatical spelling and force me to write in the old way.

Libreoffice has both dictionaries LibreOffice Dicionários but when I install one, it overwrites the other one. And I want to use both, depending on the document.

I know MS Word allows you to select if you want the portuguese spelling with or without Orthographic Agreement.

So, the question is: Is there any way or workaround to have both dictionaries installed and select the one I want in a per document basis?

For example, maybe creating some kind of pt_PT_PREAO and pt_PT_AO locales and copying the original files? If that's possible, how to do that?

I install the hunspell in Ubuntu 18.04 today, I'm trying to use it but it seems to not work. Maybe the problem is me xD.

At /usr/share/hunspell I have en_US.aff and en_US.dic but the OpenOffice don't detect any dictionary and I can't select any dictionary in spellright at vscode too.

How can I add language dictionaries to KDE apps? So far they only support some variants of English. There are hints that Hunspell could be used, but according to dpkg -l 'hunspell*', hunspell itself is not installed, while, curiously, hunspell-en-us is). Furthermore, the list of available language packages is small, and doesn't contain major languages such as Spanish or French.
