Questions[isolinux](ubuntu)

I have created an iso file using mkisofs from a directory that contain a linux system structure like:

cs50@BaitLinux:~/idefs$ ls
bin   build  dev  home  lib64  mnt  proc  run   srv  tmp  var
boot  data   etc  lib   media  opt  root  sbin  sys  usr

Now I want to make it bootable as a Ubuntu 18.04 live system.

I have working on the Ubuntu upgrade from 14 to 18.04 ISO. So in my system already having two partitions:

/dev/sda1  Ext4   /
/dev/sda5  swap

I want to be use existing partition (sda1) to install the latest OS 18 without format (format: no, keep existing data) and assign this as mount as root (mount: /)

I need to create the entries in to preseed file as like below configuration (manually select)

Use as : Ext4 jounaling filesystem
Format the partition: no, keep existing data
Mount point: /
Bootable flag: on

Please help on this. i have spent too much time for this.

Note : i can achieve while doing manually select, but i have to done on the unattened ubuntu ISO part.

I am trying to add UEFI boot capability to a BIOS only Ubuntu 18.04 based custom iso. All the methods I've found so far require an efi.img file which isn't present in the iso. Can I use the file out of a full install Ubuntu 18.04? If yes, do I need to edit it? If not, how can I construct an efi.img file?

The custom iso is designed to run from a USB, not installed. It is also intended for distribution to new Linux users. Adding UEFI capabilities to the USB rather than the iso isn't the solution we're looking.

This is the script that I used to build the fat partition. It is run in the folder containing the extracted iso:

I wonder to remove Function options from syslinux on Ubuntu CD installation iso.

I am customizing my own distro and I want to remove those options which are useless for my case.

I have tried changing .cfg files but doesn't work and I can't find proper setting to remove it. I succeed on changing background and some colors, but not customizing these options.

I need to install Ubuntu 16.04 in uefi mode without keyboard, so I need to auto select Try ubuntu but if I edit isolinux.cfg and syslinux.cfg this has effect only if I boot the usb drive in legacy mode. Is there a solution?
