Questions[launchpadlib](ubuntu)

18.04.2 pip install script as sudo was executed per instructions:

wget https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py
sudo python3 get-pip.py
rm get-pip.py

and an error (in bold below) was observed however the final pip --version seems to work correctly.

Is there any reason to be concerned regarding the error? If so, what corrective action is needed?

ERROR: launchpadlib 1.10.6 requires test resources, which is not installed.

I'm not sure if this is a python question or a launchpad question since I am new to both. I am getting a collection of bugs in a bug_task collection. I am running searchTasks. The API reference documentation says bug_link is a link to a bug object. The bug object has the id. I was hoping to be able to print out the bug id by just getting the attribute, but that is not working.

Here is the relevant snippet of code:

bug_tasks = series.searchTasks(status=['New'],importance=['Critical'])
for bug in bug_tasks:
    print(bug)
    bug_link=bug.bug_link
    bug_id=bug_link.id
    print(bug_id)

When I run the script, I get the error

AttributeError: 'unicode' object has no attribute 'id'

I've also tried

bug_id=bug_link.get(id)
bug_id=get(bug_link.id)
bug_id=get(bug_link).id

None of those worked.

Any help on how to get the bug id from bug_link would be appreciated.

Is there a way to retrieve all the bugs that have been tagged using a given tag using launchpadlib?

I'm looking at something like:

launchpad.bugs(tag='bitesize')

I would like to retrieve programatically all questions&answers related to one project from launchpad, so that I can import those to a new forum site. I was looking at launchpadlib but I cannot access questions for a single project:

from launchpadlib.launchpad import Launchpad
ll=Launchpad.login_anonymously('')
# get the project; but it does not contain references to questions (it references bugs, translations etc, but not questions
pro=ll.project['woo'] 
# some (random?) question from launchpad, but not for the project I need

using the web API would be also fine. Getting the content in any machine-readable format (JSON, XML) is th goal.

On each users Launchpad homepage, there's a tab entitled Bugs. I've been looking through the Launchpad API reference for the person object but can't find anything that seems like it would return all the bugs associated with a particular user.

Have I just missed something or is there no easy way to use the API to do this? If that's the case, then how is Launchpad going about compiling that list?
