Questions[nautilus-script](ubuntu)

I have been using filemanager-actions to implement some custom actions in my Files (Nautilus) application. I am a non-LTS Ubuntu user. I have used all the versions of Ubuntu since 18.10 on my main notebook computer.

Yesterday, I upgraded to 20.10 and filemanager-actions was removed automatically as part of the Ubuntu upgrade process. I searched today for a "groovy" version of this package, but there is none.

Does anybody have an idea of what happened to it? The only thing I have found on the Internet so far is this: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/filemanager-actions/+publishinghistory

I know about Nautilus Scripts, but is this the alternative intended for filemanager-actions?

In the latest versions of ubuntu, right clicking on a file doesn't give you the possibility to create password protected archives (see this question). I still need to do that kind of things though so I was trying to create a nautilus script that does the same job.

It's still very raw (I'm not very good with bash scripting) but it sort of works. The only problem is: it breaks if there is a space in a file name.

    files+=" $line"
done

cd $NAUTILUS_SCRIPT_CURRENT_URI
gnome-terminal -t "Compressing File(s)" --hide-menubar -e "zip -r --encrypt compressed_file.zip $files"

How can I wrap the $line variable (line 4) to wrap the filename inside quotes?

edit: I could use file-roller instead of the shell zip command (it's even simpler indeed):

#!/bin/bash

file-roller -d $@

But still, I have to wrap the file names into quotes in order to avoid problems

I'm trying to make a Mark as executable command for the right click in nautilus for a faster work flow. I came up with this script:

for file in $NAUTILUS_SCRIPT_SELECTED_FILE_PATHS; do
gksudo "chmod +x $file" &
done

How do I get this to work though. I currently have a .sh file and have no idea where to put it.

When I rightclick a folder in Nautilus I find these options "Open in New Window" and "Open in New Tab". Is it possible to add an option "Open in New Pane" which would open the selected folder in a new pane as it appears when I press F3?

What would be the parameters for Nautilus Actions or can I realize this with Nautilus Scripts?

I regularly connect to a server via ssh. Lately I've started copying files to and from it, and I find scp very annoying, mainly because bash cannot auto complete over ssh.

I find the connect to server... option very useful, as I can drag and drop and everything. However, it is very annoying to type each time nautilus sftp://server (or fill the dialog box) and then enter username and password, and then to cd to the desired folder. Is there a way to do it in one line, something like

nautilus ntfs://server -u user ...

I couldn't find it anywhere in the documentation.
