Questions[rfkill](ubuntu)

I am using Dell Inspiron 15, 3537 ( approx 7 yrs old )

I am having Ubuntu 20 lts. Every thing was fine.

My laptop hanged while uploading some large files, in bulky resource eating CHROME.

I tried every thing to stop the process.

But in vain.. No method known to human worked.

It was just froozen.

Now , with anger, I hit the Power button. Even that hanged.

After holding the power button for some time, finally it shut down.

After booting, every thing was quite the same. Except

my wifi , which was earlier working, had now stopped working.

You are reading me because I had a wire which you call ethernet cable

But now, leave every thing else, and please help me..

I am in deep agony..

Give me a solution other than re installing ubuntu

After I switch on Bluetooth on Ubuntu 18.04, it's not able to search any devices.

I ran rfkill list, and all was unblocked.

Kindly help on this. I even tried updating the firmware, but that didn't solve the problem.

In Linux there is a program called "rfkill". You can (de)activate radio modules with that. I was interested in the question what "rf" means. But I cant find an explanation. Maybe somebody here knows that?

On my 64-bit Ubuntu 18.04 WiFi isn't working - my WiFi networks are not visible to choose from. I got the following result:

Is this a case of a missing driver? My Ethernet connection works fine.

Rebooting. This is a desktop system, not a laptop. It sits about five feet from the router.

Disconnected the internet, rebooted, ran the command, and reconnected the internet. dmesg | grep -e rt2 -e wlp > info.txt

While GS65's wifi module, Killer 1550i(which is roughly Intel 9560), doesn't supported in \~4.17 kernels, I managed to get the wifi working by compiling latest iwlwifi kernel module and including them.

But when I recover from the suspend, the wifi module is hard blocked(I could confirm this by sudo rfkill list all).

After the hard block, the airplane mode cannot be turned off by sudo rfkill unblock all or sudo modprobe iwlwifi. Googling suggests to use hardware airplane mode key, which is Fn+F10 on GS65, doesn't work in all situation(before/after hard block).

It's really frustrating since whenever I suspend my laptop for battery I have to reset it. Any help will be great. Thanks in advance!
