Questions[transcode](ubuntu)

I am currently using Ubuntu Focal Fossa 20.04 LTS and I would like to create high quality AV1 files using FFmpeg and librav1e. I have been spurred along by the addition of rav1e support to FFmpeg as 'librav1e'.

The material that I am interested in working with is given here:

1. Sintel trailer video (720p uncompressed 1.7GB)
2. Sintel trailer audio (flac 5MB)

It is early days for rav1e support under FFmpeg with not a lot of documentation and published experimentation in place. It would be great to see it all working under an Ubuntu LTS release!

I want to transcode videos using handbrake, but it shows 0 Audio Tracks.

The file is a .mp4 with one video stream (h264) and one audio stream. VLC calls the audio codec "twos" while MediaInfo calls it "PCM (Big / Signed)". It's 48kHz, 16bit, stereo.

The video was recorded by a camera and I used handbrake before to transcode its videos without problems.

I am using minidlna / ReadyMedia-Server to stream my music files in my network.

Unfortunately one of my players is unable to read FLAC files, so I am looking into a solution on how to transcode all FLAC files to mp3-format

I would like to keep only the original copies of my music on my computer, and then optionally transcode them if necessary when transferring them to my MP3 player. What can I use to accomplish this?

• Which media players have this ability built-in?
• Can I set up a transcoder to watch a folder for files to be transcoded and then moved to my MP3 player?
• What potential is there for creating the functionality I need using a media player's plugin or scripting interface?

I recently purchased one of the Kodak Playsport cameras which takes 720p video @ 60 frames per second.

The video quality is great but the files are rather large for uploading to Youtube (about 150 Megs per minute of video). The files are output as Quicktime MOV files.

My question is:

Is there a command-line tool that allows me to shrink the video down to a lower resolution/size for quicker uploading? I'm thinking something like ImageMagick's convert but for video.
