Questions[usb-modem](ubuntu)

I am on Kubuntu 20.04, I have a usb-connected fax modem, and I installed the following packages:

efax

efax-gtk

sl-modem-daemon

I ran: sudo gpasswd --add shmuel dialout

The modem is identified by VirtualBox as: Conexant System, Inc. USB HSF Modem

When I send a fax I get this output:

I have a problem with Huawei E3272 modem. Ubuntu 14.04 does not detect it as a mobile broadband modem. If I put my SIM card into my old modem(E3131) everything works, E3272 is just not detected. I have checked lsusb, and here I can see the system detects it as 12d1:14fe Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. but I cannot choose it in my Network Connections.

I tried adding usbserial vendor=0x12d1 product=0x14fe in /etc/modules, but it did not change anything. The same goes for adding

# Huawei E3272 ATTR{idVendor}=="12d1", ATTR{idProduct}=="157c", RUN +="usb_modeswitch '%b/%k'"

in /lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules. I also tried installing Modem Manager, but it did not help.

Have you got any idea what could I do, so my system would detect my new modem? I would like to be able to use LTE. :)

Are there some tools or commands I can use to send USSD codes for checking balance and data balance of the GSM SIM Card in my USB modem (Mobile broadband dongle)?

I have a new MTS MBlaze Broadband modem USB and it is not getting detected in my Ubuntu 10. 04. It is getting detected as an USB but not as MODEM as result I am not able to create a MOBILE BROADBAND connection

How to use MTS MBlaze modem on Ubuntu?

I'm running ubuntu 10.04. I have a newly purchased TATA Photon+ Internet connection which supports Windows and Mac. On the Internet I found a article saying that it could be configured on Linux. I followed the steps to install it on Ubuntu from this link. I am still not able to get online, and need some help.

Also, it is very slow, but I was told that I would see speeds up to 3.1MB.

I dont have wvdial installed and cannot install it from apt as I'm not connected to internet

Booting from windows I dowloaded "wvdial" .deb package and tried to install on ubuntu but it's ended with dependency problem. Automatically, don't know how, I got connected to internet only for once. Immediately I installed wvdial package after this I followed the tutorials(I could not browse and upload the files here) . From then it's showing that the device is connected in the network connections but no internet connection. Once I disable the device, it won't show as connected again and I'll have to restart my system. Sometimes the device itself not detected(wondering if there is any command to re-read the all devices).
