How do I put a clock on the desktop background on Ubuntu 19.04 GNOME
Is there maybe an extension that I am not finding?
I have google all I think is relevant.
When having many WiFi SSIDs available, I need to scroll through the right-click menu of nm-applet
widget menu by hovering over the arrow (see first screenshot below), yet the menu only spreads to a maximum of half my desktops height. Sometimes the size even shrinks in what I can currently only perceive as a random pattern (second screenshot).
How to set the size of this menu and make it use the whole desktop height as maximum before offering to scroll?
Running mate

.
I do exactly what it says in the vicious README, but when I reload the configuration file, no widgets are added to the top bar. So for example, I add:
require("vicious")
at the top (after moving the vicious directory in ~/.config/awesome/) and:
-- Initialize widget
cpuwidget = widget({ type = "textbox" })
-- Register widget
vicious.register(cpuwidget, vicious.widgets.cpu, "$1%")
later in the config file. I reload the configuration file, and nothing changes.
What am I doing wrong?
I am new to Ubuntu and would very much like to see a weather gadget (aka widgets).
Can anyone recommed a simple add-that could give me a little weather, Clock, Twitter Crawl, etc?
Thanks
