I use gnome calendar on daily basis. But for some reason now a single event is lasting for 2 days instead of one. I'm on Ubuntu 21.04. I don't think this bug existed when I was on 20.10.

In the gnome calendar app, it shows that the event is a day long but whenever I open the calendar in the notification center it instead shows the same event lasting for two days instead of one.

I'm attaching some screenshot to further demonstrate this issue.

As you can I see I have a event on 6th July which lasts a single day in the gnome calendar app.

But the same event lasts 2 days long when viewed in the notification center calendar.

This is a really annoying bug and I was wondering if there is any way to fix this issue.

I'm on Ubuntu 20.10 and in this update, the events show at the bottom of the calendar along with the add world clock option as in the screenshot below.

I know this got here because of I installed "gnome-clocks" but I use clocks option quite often but not the world clock. So, I would like to remove the option to add world clock without removing the gnome-clocks package.

Any help would be appreciated!

I read that if I upgrade windows with a linux partition, window will not recognize the ubuntu partition(ext4) and will overwrite the partition, deleting the ubuntu partition. Is there a way I can upgrade windows without affecting my ubuntu partition at all?

I want to change the background color of the wifi selection box in gnome. However, I don't know which CSS is responsible for the same. Can anybody help me?

I want to get a list of all media playing. Somewhat like the notification bar shows you. Is there a command to do the same?

I use dash to dock extension but there is a quite siginificant bug in the latest version. I downloaded the last version and installed that but the extensions apps automatically upgrades it to the latest version once I log out. How can I turn off auto updates?

Some time ago I noticed a lot of ram(1.8/8GB) being used when my system was idle with only a day of uptime. I had to reinstall my Ubuntu because of some reason and now the ram usage has risen up much more. I only have a 26 hours of uptime and this is the result of free -m when my system is idle

This is 3.6GB/8GB when my system is idle. The ram usage remains same when I turn off all the extensions too.This is way too much. I'm also posting a screenshot of processes running at this time. And this is not that my system automatically adjusts ram when I open applications, I'm only able to open very limited applications from before. This is way more than windows has ever used on idle.

Can someone please help me avoid this issue?

Whenever I restart the gnome shell and go to activities overview, instead of normally seeing all windows of one workspaces, I see all windows of all workspaces jumbled together. Also, all the preview of windows in the right side is gone. The bug goes away if I again go to activities overview though.I think this is a bug in gnome-shell, please let me know if you have the same problem. Here is the screenshot.

Note: I'm on Ubuntu 20.04

Steps to Reproduce the bug:

• Restart gnome shell by pressing Alt+F2.
• Go to Activities Overview by pressing Super.

As the title says snap-store is taking a lot of ram (about 300MB). Is there a way I can avoid this?

I want to rotate my screen on Ubuntu 20.04 (Wayland) but xrandr doesn't work. Is there an alternative of xrandr or can I make xrandr work on wayland?

I want a shortcut to hide the top bar and dock, so I thought the best way to do that would be to figure out a terminal command which does the same.So, can someone tell me the command to do so or another way to make the shortcut work?

I need to open a full screen game in small size because I want to run my python script the same time the game is running, is there a way to do that?

How to make the ubuntu go full screen all time, as full screen is better for me. I can use F11 but a lot of system apps won't go full screen such as nautilus, system monitor won't go full screen.

I didn't even opened ubuntu-software store when this showed up. Is there a way I can avoid this from happening? Also, if I remove the snap-store package will I'll be able to install snap apps using the terminal?

I want to block some sites on my ubuntu system.So, I added some lines to the /etc/hosts, which are

127.0.1.1       www.reddit.com
127.0.1.1       www.facebook.com

This now successfully blocks the website but I want to redirect to another URL when I go to one of the URL I mentioned above, I found that you need to change the 127.0.1.1 to IP of website to make it work but I can't convert URL such as https://i.imgur.com/6FxzzCT.png to IP address.

It would be really helpful if someone can let be convert any URL to IP address.

I'm on ubuntu 20.04 and whenever I try to connect to my bluetooth device, it takes about 5-10 tries to connect to it. Here's a link to the video demonstrating the same thing, https://i.imgur.com/BCirvcd.mp4

I just installed ubuntu 20.04 and was using Bluetooth headset with it. The sound at first was all right but whenever I change the microphone (input) device to headset the output configuration changes to Headset Head Unit(HSP/HFB). It actually doesn't show the changes but the sound quality is clearly noticeable. And when I try to change the output configuration back to High Fidelity Playback (A2DP Sink), the input device automatically changes to Headset Microphone - Built-in Audio.

So, is there a way I can get both output configuration to High Fidelity Playback (A2DP Sink) and input device to Headset?

Any Help Would be Appreciated!

I'm a newbie to ubuntu and was trying to uninstall dash to dock as I don't need it. I uninstalled it using sudo apt remove gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock and the dock still showed up in activities overview. Then I found someone used to sudo apt purge gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock to resolve the issue. I tried, still no luck. And now this big dock shows up in activities overview.

It would also be helpful if somecan can help me get the dock back to normal!
