I was trying to upgrade my Ubuntu Studio to 20.04 following the official guide here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FocalUpgrades/UbuntuStudio However when I get to the last step I reach an impass When I run pkexec update-manager I get this answer:

And when I run sudo do-release-upgrade -m desktop it says that there's no new release found.

I'm using Windows Home, and it doesn't include WRD; and I tried to activate it but it is still not working; so, is there any alternative to a remote desktop that works through LAN? I'm using Ubuntu Studio 19.10 and tried to use a remote desktop, but the #stayathome made the internet horribly slow, and so I need a solution through LAN.

I'm running Ubuntu Studio 19.10 on a Toshiba Satellite, and I wanted to try a different environment, and decided on LXDE because I'm looking to save even more hardware usage. Regardless of that, I was under the impression that I only had to run sudo apt install lxde lxde-common lxsession-logout and reboot the laptop and I'd have a prompt to use LXDE over XFCE; yet, no prompt was made when I rebooted.

Can anyone please tell me what am I missing? Or is it that LXDE won't run on Ubuntu Studio 19.10?

Is there anything I need to change in a setting or something else I'd need to install?

I recently installed Ubuntu 19.10 on mi Toshiba Satellite; and I'd like to install Windows XP SP3 on a separate partition. I've already separated the disk space for this, when I installed Ubuntu I left a 48gb partition and a 2gb respectively as "do not use", because I was planning to install Windows XP on the small partition and use the other 48 for storage.

Now, I recently searched for this online and it seems that it's not the same as simply putting on the installation bootable USB into the machine and run and it will go as intended (as it would be if I install XP first and then Ubuntu); but the technicalities of it made me simply lost. I am talking about this post: How can I install Windows after I've installed Ubuntu?

I know that Ubuntu uses an EFI partition (or at least that's what I think, I'm really new to Ubuntu, still); my Ubuntu installation has a separate partition for EFI, for Swap, "/" mount, "/boot" mount, boot grub, "/tmp", "/var" and "/home" as well as suggested on this post: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DiskSpace

Is there anyone who can please noob it down to me step-by-step on how do I install XP into these unused partitions without screwing up what I already have?

Please have in mind the fact that my laptop does not have a CD tray, it's gotta be installed via USB.

As title says; I recently installed Ubuntu Studio 19.10 Eoan (Now upgraded to Ubuntu Studio 20.04 Focal Fossa, still having the same exact issue) on my Toshiba Satellite laptop.

I was using Ubuntu 19.10 regularly since it came out, and it worked fine, but when I switched to Studio this happened.

What happens is that after I close and open the lid and then everything but the mouse is unresponsive.

Edit: Changed settings using this terminal sudo gedit /etc/systemd/logind.conf(had to install gedit, because Ubuntu Studio doesn't have by default somehow); still the same problem. Formatted the laptop and reinstalled Ubuntu Studio 19.10, still no change. Again changed the settings on sudo gedit /etc/systemd/logind.conf to

#HandleLidSwitch=ignore
#HandleLidSwitchExternalPower=ignore
#HandleLidSwitchDocked=ignore

Still no change.

I'm desperate to find a solution.

Also it's a bother to receive only notifications from someone just to tell me that I wrote something wrong instead of giving me any answer to my issue; specially since it's been many days since I've posted this issue.

EDIT 2: XFCE settings are "lock screen" at lid close; but all options give me the same problem.

Googled it, no solution found online gives me an answer or it's meant for regular Ubuntu and are not applicable to Ubuntu Studio.

Edit 3: If I set XFCE to "Presentation mode" I can't even move the mouse after closing or opening the lid; it's not that it won't move, it's that it's gonna be incredibly lagged.

Edit 4: It only happens if I close the lid and in any given time while the lid was closed the laptop runs on battery, or if I close the lid with laptop unplugged. I can still use ctrl+alt+F1, sign in, and use ctrl+alt+F7 and go back to where I was. But otherwise clicking or using the keyboard won't change anything (If a video was paused before closing the lid, the video would start when the lid opens)

Edit 5: Upgraded the system to Ubuntu Studio 20.04, the difference now, is that it happens every time, regardless of the laptop being plugged or not.

This is a really bothersome issue, because I have to go to "ctrl+alt+F1" and reboot the system, because nothing else -that I know of- works; and I have to lose every unsaved work that it's currently open.

So, I tried to follow this site https://itsfoss.com/install-adobe-flash-player-in-ubuntu-13-04/ I wanted to install flashplugin I ran sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras and got stuck in the following screen Here's where it got stuck And after a while nothing happened at all. Tried to use ctrl+c to stop it, did nothing, only ctrl+z did anything, but then again, I tried to kill the terminal, and opened a new one to run the apt remove and said that dpkg was being used; then I tried to reboot and the system didn't give me the option to turn of the laptop so I used the terminal sudo reboot then I tried to use sudo apt remove ubuntu-restricted-extras and it said that it wasn't actually installed and removed two dependencies, when it got to the second one it gave me the same purple screen of death again stuck at 20%. How do I fix this? I use Ubuntu Studio 19.10
