I use ubuntu 20.10 with gnome software, the deb version with snap and flatpak plugins and there are some applications that are available from different sources like the official repo, snap or/and flatpak. By default the snap version has the highest priority and is selected.

How can I choose the default source just like kde's discover?

For instance if "gedit" is available in snap and deb repo, how can I set the deb version to be the default?

Kde's discover lets you set the default source permanently.

I'm trying to create a live USB with the latest Ubuntu but without success.

Steps I did:

1. Downloaded the ISO image

2. Verified the image

3. I tried with gnome disks, ubuntu's Startup Disk Creator and Etcher.

I tried all these apps both with MBR and GPT (6 tries in total) but nothing worked!

Then I tried with RUFUS from a windows PC and it was the only that worked.

btw Fedora 33 and ubuntu 20.04 both work with all these apps, so ubuntu 20.10 has probably changed something.

My laptop uses UEFI with secure boot disabled.

is there any way to get chromium with vaapi on ubuntu 20.10?? I've tried snap version from candidate/vaapi channel and it does not work now but it worked about a month or so ago.
