Input/output error on USB disks when I use qBittorrent

  • 0

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 on a Raspberry Pi 4. I connected 4 USB disks to the Pi: two USB 2.0 disks to USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 disks to a USB 3.0 hub connected to one of two USB 3.0 ports. All disks have ext4 partitions only and they are mounted via /etc/fstab, some of them are shared via Samba. Normally everything works like a charm for hours but if I run qBittorent (and aMule too...) after few minutes I can't access to some partitions on these disks, if I do ls -l in directories where partitions are mounted I get ls: reading directory '.': Input/output error. This happens on four partitions on three disk, another partition on the fourth has no problems... A sudo dmesg | tail -n 100 reveals:

Random system halt/crash with Ubuntu 20.04 on Raspberry Pi 4

  • 2

I installed Ubuntu 20.04 with Xfce4 DE (xubuntu-desktop) on a Raspberry Pi 4 4GB.

System runs good but randomly it shutdowns/halts, I don't known exactly what happens because I use it as headless server and connect via SSH or VNC. When I can't connect to it, I go where the Pi is and I find it with both leds (activity and power) off. There is a little fan connected to +3.3 V pin of GPIO for cooling and it is on...

I'm sure there aren't hardware failure because the Pi runs like a charm with Raspbian Buster OS!

Starting VNC server at boot with systemd

  • 3

I've a Raspberry Pi 4 with Ubuntu 18.04 server. I often control it via VNC, so I create a systemd service to start vnc4server at boot, it worked well until yesterday, now the service doesn't start. If I check with sudo systemctl status vnc4server@1, I get:

vnc4server@1.service - Start VNC server at startup

This is my systemd service file:

If I start the server manually, it works. What's wrong?

I installed the official Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS 64bit image on my Raspberry Pi 4. On Raspian Buster I used RealVNC server to connect remotely to Raspberry so I want to use the same with Ubuntu but on official RealVNC server page is available .deb package for armhf architecture; how can I user that .deb package on my arm64 system?
