How can you make it so when the laptop lid is closed, the PC doesn't suspend or lock but just turn off the display so that I don't have to log back in. I have tried changing the lid close action to blank but it logs me out. Also how do I set screen to "Blank" when lid is closed correctly? Doing it from dconf-editor doesn't seem to work!
I can't click the cog icon, the go back icon and the show password icon in the login screen. Anyone know how to fix this. Please note that I have no trouble typing the password and pressing enter to log in.
What is Wayland and how do I enable it? One extension that I installed said that it needs Wayland to work... Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am new to Ubuntu and the world of Coding. (I haven't even entered it. Still at the door... thinking and exploring...)
Are there settings in Ubuntu 20.04 similar to multiple figure gesture controls in Windows? If there are how do I activate and configure them? At least, is there an extension that can do this? See images below to what windows offer. Also is there a way to add refresh (alt
+ F2
) to the right-click menu?
Edit: I have tried this tutorial but it didn't work for me. I found a good solution with this extension which is exactly what I want but it only works for Wayland. Is there anyonewho can give me an alternative or create one for me?
How can you create and enable workspaces in Ubuntu 20.04. I can't seem to find the option to make them and enable them in GNOME desktop.
Is there a way to create a trash for the shared NTFS partition with Windows. Whenever I delete something, It says that it can't be moved to the trash and will be deleted immediately.

How can you create desktop shortcuts for folders in Ubuntu 20.04? I can't see the "Make link" button when I right-click on it.
Is it necessary to have a /home
partition in Ubuntu Desktop 20.04? I read somewhere about a home
file in /root
partition...
Does the same go to the /swap
partition?
Can someone set up a guide for New and Experienced users so that this information will be beneficial to many.
1) How well does Ubuntu support NTFS? 2) I want to make Ubuntu save all my Documents, Videos, Music, etc... in my /home to the same location that windows 10 saves the. I mean everything except the desktop files. Is it possible to create such a link? Note: I don't save my files using windows in the C: partition. I use a separate D: partition for that. I want to link Ubuntu created file to that D: partition
What is the minimum size of the home partition and can I use a pre-used NTFS partition as the home partition?
Ubuntu doesn't detect Windows 10 and I can't install Ubuntu alongside it. I have checked the C drive for errors and found none. Secure Boot is also disabled.
I have all the requirements. 2.40GHz dual-core processor, 16GB RAM, plenty of remaining space, GPU capable of 1920x1080 screen resolution, a USB with Ubuntu desktop 20.04 installation media and internet access, however during the installation I don't get the option to install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10. I have 5 partitions: 500MB EFI system partition, a 20GB partition and a 30GB partition or personal use and C (Windows) partition with 57GB free. My current OS is Windows Home Edition 10.0.19041 Build 19041 (Version 2004). I have UEFI boot mode.
